Make Yourself at Home
On your first visit expect to spend about 30 minutes to an hour with us. You will be warmly welcomed by our friendly staff and you will immediately be made to feel comfortable.

New patients often remark how "friendly and clean" our office is. That's good, because our goal is to offer state-of-the-art chiropractic care in a comfortable, clean and friendly environment. You'll find plenty of convenient street parking. You'll be greeted by name when you enter our office and given a short tour to get you acquainted with our facility. If you've already completed your admitting paperwork, great! If not, after doing so we'll show you a short 5-minute video and then you'll meet one of our well-trained, personable doctors.

We Explain Everything First
The purpose of your first visit and consultation with the doctor is to discuss your health challenges and health goals to see if chiropractic care is likely to help you. If it looks promising, a thorough examination including spinal x-rays will help identify the cause of your problem. Our patients appreciate that we explain everything in advance!

After your first visit we will need some time to analyze your x-rays and compile our exam findings. This is usually takes only one or two days. This two-visit approach accomplishes several things: Reduces the length of your first visit Gives us time to correlate our findings Avoids overloading you with too much information.

The 'Report of Findings' visit, we will explain what we found on your x-rays and examination and let you know if we can help you, how long it will take, how often you will need to come in and explain our affordable payment plans.

At Chiropractic Memphis our examination procedures are geared toward detection and correction of the Vertebral Subluxation. The procedures we use are therefore specifically selected for your spine and nervous system health. There are a couple of things that you should expect during your first visit to our clinic.

The Examination
Our Examination consists of a thorough spinal and nervous system exam which includes "Palpation". Palpation essentially is checking your spine by hand. With this exam the doctor can feel areas of your spine that may be involved with subluxation problems. Spinal position, curvatures and muscle tone can also be examined as it relates to possible spinal subluxations.

Your examination will also include a computerized examination called the "Insight Millennium Subluxation Station." This examination involves several important components.

The first part of this examination process involves reading spinal heat differences from one level of the spine to another, as well as from one side of the spine to the other. Heat is a by-product of circulation, which is controlled by the autonomic nervous system. From this we can see how subluxations may be affecting these functions of your nervous system.

In the second part of this examination, the Insight Millennium Subluxation Station scans the surface of your spinal area for surface electrical impulses read from the muscles holding the spine in place and allowing the body to move, and measures them along your spine. This helps measure the affect of subluxations on the motor nerve system and the affect subluxations may be having on your muscles.

The importance of each of these tests will be explained to you during your Doctor's Report. However, it is important to note that this examination helps scientifically understand the subluxation processes going on in your spine. It also gives us a baseline for future tests so we can accurately measure your progress to see how your spine is correcting and your nervous system is functioning. Using the Insight Millennium Subluxation Station is much more accurate than just depending on "how you feel" on any given day.

The Doctor's Report
You will be scheduled for your Doctor's Report within a few days of your initial visit. This visit is your most important visit and may take up to one hour. It is during your Doctor's Report that we will give you a care plan and go over any special instructions you will need to obtain the best and fastest possible results. We have set aside specific times for these visits so as not to interfere with regular patient care hours. Our staff will schedule your Doctor's Report with you after your first visit.
